Who we are and what this covers

Simvay LLC (Simvay, we, us) is a cybersecurity firm headquartered in Westlake, Ohio. This statement explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, simvay.com. Simvay LLC is the data controller for that information.

Services delivered to clients are governed by their service agreements. This statement covers the public website only.

What we collect

We keep collection to a minimum. This site has no user accounts and no advertising trackers.

• Contact form submissions: name, organization, email address, phone number (optional), sector, and the message you write.
• Insights email sign-ups: your email address and the fact that you consented, used only to send you new Insights posts. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
• Direct correspondence: if you email or call us, we retain that correspondence.
• Visit statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your country. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not identify you.
• Website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics records the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.

How we use it

We use the information above to respond to your inquiry, scope potential engagements, keep ordinary business records, and understand which pages are useful. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

We do not share it with third parties except the service providers we need to operate the website and our business (such as our email provider, which also holds the Insights sign-up list), or where the law requires it. Google processes website analytics for us, and only for visitors who accept analytics cookies.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on two legal bases: our legitimate interest in operating this website and responding to the inquiries it generates, and your consent. You give consent when you choose to send us your information, and when you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and withdraw analytics consent through Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

Where information is processed

Simvay operates in the United States, and information submitted through this site is processed and stored in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, including from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information is transferred to the United States when you submit it.

Hosting and server logs

This website is served by Cloudflare. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and request metadata to deliver pages and to protect the site from malicious traffic. That processing is described in Cloudflare's own privacy documentation.

Cookies

This site sets Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them, and never sets advertising cookies. Details, and how to change your choice, are in our Cookie Policy.

Retention

We keep correspondence and inquiry records only as long as they serve a business purpose or as the law requires, then delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. This includes rights under the GDPR for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.

Send requests to contact@simvay.com. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law sets. If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Children

This website is intended for organizations and their representatives. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change this statement, we will post the new version on this page with a new revision date.
